My main operating position is centered around a Yaesu FT-847 and a Yaesu FT-726. The station is configured as follows:

  • 6 Meters
The FT-847 drives a Mirage amplifier (150W) into a Yaesu YS-60 SWR meter to a 3 element beam fed with LMR-400
  • 2 Meters
The FT-847 drives a Diawa amplifier (180W) into a Yaesu YS-500 SWR meter to a 13 element beam fed with LMR-400
  • 1.25 Meters
The FT-847 drives my DEMI based 222 transverter system to a AM-6155 amplifier (325W) to a 14 element beam fed with 1/2 inch Heliax
  • .70 Meters
The FT-847 goes into a ARR GaAsFET RF switched preamp then to a KLM amplifier (100W) into a Yaesu YS-500 SWR meter to a 22 element beam fed with 1/2 inch Heliax
  • .33 Meters
The FT-726 via the 10M module drives my homebrewed 903 transverter to a Motorola 300W PA to a 35 element Directive Systems looper.
  • .23 Meters
The FT-726 via the 2M module drives my DEMI based 1296 transverter system to a DEMI 35W PA to a pair of 44 element Directive Systems loopers.
The antennas are mounted on a 35 ft Wilson crankup tower and turned with a Yaesu G800DXA. Update: I now have a 45 ft US Tower tubular tower with raising fixture and rotator base turned by a Yaesu G1000SDX. Hopefully it will be up soon!
